About Cordele, 31010 - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Cordele is a lovely southern town with a great deal of history and charm.  Georgians are known for their hospitality, their peaches and their delicious down home cooking and Cordele is no exception.  The weather in the area is hot in the summers and cooler in the winter but the climate is generally moderate and nice.  There’s hot enough weather in the summer for the pool and just enough snowfall in the winters to give kids a chance to break out the sleds.  This part of the world has so much to offer that it is hard to know where to begin, but no matter what you will need to make a point to check out some of the local historical buildings.

Though Cordele is not quite as rich in history as some of the surrounding towns, it does have some interesting history.  Fun fact!  The area that is now Cordele served as the temporary capital of Georgia in 1864.  This was only for a few days, but it is an interesting story.  As the chill of autumn hit that November, the Confederacy began to crumble.  At that time, Georgia's war governor, Joseph Brown, escaped attack from the north at his farmhouse in the area. Brown called it the “Dooly County Place” and later in the century, a hotel was built where it once stood.  Then, in 1994, it burned down and was rebuilt.

If you are looking for some downhome southern cooking that will knock your socks off then you should not miss Daphne Lodge, about ten miles outside of town. It has been given a “Certificate of Excellence” by TripAdvisor.com for consistently garnering positive reviews and high ratings.  One reviewer said, “Drinks were reasonably priced. Appetizers we got were very tasty. Main course prepared with perfection and the dessert we shared was heavenly. There were five of us and our experience at the Daphne Lodge was excellent… we will go out of our way to visit this restaurant.” That should sum it up.  Whether you are looking to warm up from the inside in the winter or want a big glass of cold sweet tea in the summer, you simply can’t go wrong with this restaurant!
